DBYEA General Assembly sets Strategic Direction for 2025–2026

Kigali, 12 September 2025 – Don Bosco Youth Education for All (DBYEA) convened its General Assembly at the Salesian AGL Provincial House in Kimihurura. The meeting brought together members of the Executive Committee, technical organs, and other stakeholders to review the organization’s progress and adopt key resolutions for the year ahead.

The session was officially opened by the Chairperson, Fr. Servilien UFITAMAHORO, who thanked participants for their presence and emphasized the importance of the General Assembly in ensuring compliance with Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) requirements. He reaffirmed DBYEA’s mission of empowering young people through education and skills development, while underlining the need to strengthen partnerships and resource mobilization.

Key Resolutions Adopted

During the deliberations, the General Assembly resolved to:

  • Admit new members upon submission of formal applications, with anticipated appointments to reinforce both the Executive and Audit Committees.
  • Draft and adopt internal regulations, while ensuring proper archiving of DBYEA documentation and activity records.
  • Finalize the 2025–2026 Action Plan by 19 September 2025 and complete the 2025 Annual Report by 27 September 2025 for timely submission to RGB.
  • Organize a technical workshop in collaboration with experienced NGOs such as FXB and ARCOS.
  • Strengthen collaboration with Œuvres de Don Bosco and continue receiving technical support from the Salesian Province Development Office (PDO).
  • Explore the launch of DBYEA activities within Don Bosco oratories, including championships and awareness campaigns for youth engagement.

Way Forward

The General Assembly reaffirmed DBYEA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the effective delivery of its mission. Members emphasized the importance of coordination and fundraising to ensure the sustainability of DBYEA initiatives.

The meeting concluded with a moment of fellowship, marked by a coffee break and a group photo of all participants.
